Cell dissociation reagents

Cell dissociation is an essential step in cell culture to detach adherent cells from culture surfaces or tissue. It enables a certain number of cells to be obtained for cell experiments or prevents too close cell-cell contacts in cultures. We now offer new solutions for trypsinisation as well as the Accutase solution for more cell-friendly applications.


ROTI®nanoMETIC (Nanoparticles und QDs)

Nanoparticles: Our nanoparticles are ideal for many different applications and are mainly supplied as hydrophilic powders that can be easily suspended in aqueous solutions. Our portfolio includes metals, metal oxides and other compounds in the nanoscale range.

Quantum dots (QD): Quantum dots (QD) are fluorescent nanoparticles of certain semiconductor crystals whose electronic properties are strongly dependent on the particle size. The smaller the particles, the more the fluorescence colour is shifted towards blue, enabling emission of the entire colour spectrum with QDs made of the same material (but with different diameters). As the size of the QDs can be precisely adjusted during their manufacture, their electronic and fluorescence properties can be precisely controlled. Quantum dots are much more stable than organic fluorophores due to their inorganic material structure.

Carl ROTH offers you a wide range of many hydrophobic and hydrophilic quantum dots that are suitable for a variety of chemical and biochemical applications. The products are supplied as powders in 2 ml vials with a septum. This allows the quantum dots to be dispersed directly in the vial with the desired solvent. 


DNA and protein purification

Carl ROTH offers you a wide range of products that are required for the efficient purification of biomolecules. New additions to our range are our ROTI®SampleLysis tubes for mechanical cell disruption and the RIPA buffer for chemical cell lysis. For sample preparation, aqueous samples can now be easily concentrated with our ROTI®SampleConcentrator.  In addition to our extended range of column-based DNA and RNA purification kits, we now also offer products for the quick and easy purification of proteins or nucleic acids by size exclusion chromatography.


Click chemistry

Click chemistry enables a fast, selective and simple reaction of azide and alkyne substrates. Due to these advantages, it is used in many fields of research. We offer various kits, e.g. for the detection of cell proliferation with different read-outs (imaging, flow cytometry and high-throughput screening), for RNA labelling and DNA labelling, for the detection of nucleic acids using FISH or other molecular biological methods. In addition, we offer various fluorescent markers, tags, amino acids and the general click reagents of the baseclick brand.


TOC and TIC Standards

Standards for Total Organic Carbon and Total Inorganic Carbon. The sum parameter TOC is used in environmental analysis and is a measure of the content of organic carbon in the air, soil or water sample. The inorganic carbon includes dissolved carbonates, hydrogen carbonates, carbonic acid and carbon dioxide and is part of the total carbon of a sample. Our new ROTI®Calipure TOC and TIC standards are suitable for calibration, validation and the production of working standards.


Ionic liquids

Ionic liquids are salts that are liquid over a wide temperature range. They consist of organic cations and organic or inorganic anions. Due to their complete ionic structure, they are characterised by a variety of interesting properties, such as a negligible vapour pressure, excellent chemical and thermal stability, high solubility with a wide range of substances and biopolymers and a low melting point below 100 °C. Ionic liquids are an environmentally friendly alternative to volatile, ecologically problematic solvents and are comparatively uncomplicated and safe to handle.  Carl ROTH now offers you selected high-purity ionic liquids from proionic for electrochemical research and development, which are normally only available on an industrial scale.
