Our commitment to a sustainable future – certified and put into practice

At Carl ROTH, sustainability is deeply rooted in our corporate strategy. Our comprehensive sustainability management system brings together the requirements of EcoVadis, ISO 14001 and Responsible Care™ and enables us to manage ecological, social and ethical aspects in a structured manner, to make them quantifiable and to continuously develop them.

The United Nations’ 17 goals for sustainable development (2030 Agenda) form our overarching framework for orientation. We understand these global objectives as guidelines for responsible and future-oriented economic activity – not only as individual measures, but also as an integrated part of our corporate management.

Their basic principles are enshrined in our central governance documents – the code of conduct, the context of the organisation and the analysis of interested parties. This allows us to recognise our opportunities to make an impact in a targeted manner and to take measures precisely where we make the greatest contribution.

Our objective is to implement sustainability as an integral part of our daily activities – with an awareness of our responsibilities, transparently and in line with the values of the 2030 Agenda.

ISO 14001:2015 – environmental management system

At a time when environmental protection and sustainability are becoming increasingly important, implementing and certifying our environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015 was a crucial step for taking a systematic approach to playing our part in protecting the environment and climate and continuously improving.

The benefit to you as a customer

You can work with a partner that proactively takes account of environmental factors. By identifying and assessing environmental impacts on an ongoing basis, we optimise our processes, increase the efficiency of resources and develop more environmentally friendly solutions. The result is sustainable products that meet both your requirements and the highest environmental standards.

Our commitment

We believe that ISO 14001:2015 is more than just a certification – it is the expression of our corporate responsibility. We are committed to using resources sparingly, minimising waste and making use of environmentally friendly technologies. By systematically monitoring and improving our environmental performance, we reduce our carbon footprint and actively play our part in creating a sustainable future.

Beyond statutory standards

Responsible Care™ is synonymous with our holistic understanding of sustainability. We continuously improve our performances in the areas of health, safety and environmental protection and transparently document our commitment. This internationally recognised programme strengthens our customers’ and partners’ confidence in our company’s reliability and sense of responsibility.

EcoVadis bronze medal 2025

Our achievements in sustainability were awarded with the EcoVadis bronze medal in July 2025. This award confirms our wide-ranging commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainable economic activity.

EcoVadis assesses companies all around the world using four central areas of sustainability – environment, labour and human rights, sustainable procurement and ethics & corporate governance. With the annual assessment, we identify areas for improvement in a targeted manner and continuously develop our sustainability management system.

The four pillars of our sustainability strategy
  • Environment – We minimise our environmental impacts by efficiently managing resources, reducing emissions and using environmentally friendly technologies.
  • Welfare and human rights – We promote fair working conditions, health protection and diversity and create a safe working environment for all members of staff.
  • Sustainable procurement – We carefully select our partners and promote sustainable practices along the entire supply chain. Transparency and responsibility are central principles of our procurement policy.
  • Ethics & corporate governance – Integrity, compliance and transparency guide our actions and form the foundation for sustainable growth and trust.
