Easy and cost efficient concentration of proteins, microparticles and other macromolecules.

Application:

After dialysis, the dialysis tubing containing the sample is simply coated with Spectra/GelTM Absorbent. Made of polyacrylate-polyalcohol, Spectra/GelTM removes water and small molecules like salt ions from the sample by absorption through the membrane without affecting or contaminating the biomolecules. Grain size 100-850 µm.
The duration of the process depends on the desired final concentration, the MWCO of the dialysis membrane, and the surface to volume ratio of the tubing. E.g. concentration of 5 ml sample through a MWCO of 15 kD results in a final volume of 0.5 ml in approx. 60 min. The wet granulate may be easily wiped off and the concentrated sample be removed from the opened
dialysis tubing.
One package (500 g) suffices for up to 50 applications.
