Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is commonly used in 3D printing as a solvent, particularly for smoothing and post-processing printed plastic parts such as ABS or PLA. When two parts are wetted with THF and pressed together, their surfaces briefly dissolve, fuse with each other, and form a permanent bond as the solvent evaporates. The result is a strong, often seamless connection.
