Magigoo for polycarbonate filaments, Glue Stick, 50 ml

Magigoo PC 3D glue stick is designed to work exclusively with polycarbonate type filaments. This professional-grade adhesive ensures that prints adhere firmly when the print bed is hot and the part is easy to remove once it has cooled. This unique and innovative mechanism means that no tools are required to remove prints from the bed. They simply pop off when the bed cools down.

WHY:

The strength and toughness of PC make it an ideal FDM material for the production of functional prototypes and end-use parts, yet the material presents some printing challenges. Virgin PC has a high glass transition temperature (Tg) and can therefore be used in high temperature applications. However, a high Tg value can make it very difficult to print with desktop printers, as these are not usually equipped for the high printing temperatures required for printing virgin PC. Virgin PC actually tends to warp significantly when printed at an inadequate bed temperature (<130 ºC) in unheated closed chambers without the use of a suitable bed adhesive. Some manufacturers have improved the printability of PC by using plasticisers or blending it with other materials. However, there are still some difficulties to be considered when using these solutions, firstly adhesion can still be a problem, especially on larger parts. In addition, some bed adhesion sheets have been proposed to avoid the warping that occurs with larger prints, but in this case there is a high tendency for the adhesive sheet material used to fuse irreversibly with the print. This means that the expensive sheet has to be removed very often and also requires a lot of post-processing and cleaning. Magigoo PC can be used on glass or several other surfaces. Use on other plastic-based surfaces, including plates, is recommended to ensure strong adhesion and prevent the part from fusing to the plate.



HOW:

Magigoo PC has been developed and tested to work with various PC filament brands. As the composition of each plastic is slightly different, the ideal settings for Magigoo PC may vary.

SAFETY:

Using this product with filaments other than PC filaments may cause over-adhesion and damage the build surface.



Tips:

For larger prints, a 20 mm brim with multiple layers is recommended.
In case of excessive adhesion, it is recommended to wet the print bed with a small amount of water and work it slowly under the part, which should facilitate the removal of the part.
