Azure II eosinat for microscopy

Azure II is a mixture of equal parts of the basic coal tar dyes methylene blue, Azure B and eosin. It is mainly used for staining of blood elements (e.g. in Giemsa staining solution, Art. No. T862).

In watery solution it forms Azure B eosinates which cause the so called “Romanowsky-Giemsa effect”, a polychromatic, pH-dependent staining of chromatin.
