keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, hot surfaces. No smoking, avoid breathing mist/vapours, wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection, IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water [or shower], IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing, call a POISON CENTRE/doctor if you feel unwell

Fast Oxidation reagent for DNA synthesis
0,02 M Iode
The phosphite triester linkage formed during oligonucleotide synthesis is of limited stability and has to stabilised. Treatment of the support-bound material with iodine and water in the presence of a weak base oxidizes the phosphite triester into a tetracoordinated phosphate triester, a protected precursor of the naturally occurring phosphate diester internucleosidic linkage.
